Over the past few months I have been working on a personal project about Lovat Shinty Club. I wanted to show how the club worked to benefit the local community.
Shinty is a traditional Highland sport which is similar to hockey which at times can be quite brutal and there are lots of local rivalries.
The Lovat Shinty Memories sessions were a good example of the club working with the local community because they were aimed at those who were suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease as well as others within the wider community.

When I attended the speaker was Hugh D MacLennan who has been the voice of shinty at the BBC for the past few decades. I have to admit it was an entertaining talk that he gave and there were some wonderful memories.
Hopefully I will give the various shots I have taken during my short spell with the club a proper edit once I am in Carlisle but it is a pity I could not follow them through the full season.

Hopefully I will be able to share more pictures before the move to Carlisle.
