Today it was a nice change to be a photographer for the day covering The Westmorland County Show, for The Westmorland Gazette, which is a sister publication to the News & Star and based in Kendal.
It was always a major stress covering country shows getting all the results for the following day’s paper.
Having said that it was more relaxed wandering around taking shots for a spread in the Gazette. We had an exclusive interview set up with celebrity chef Matt Tebbutt, who presents BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, who was giving a presentation in the Cumbria Life Food Theatre.
I found him easy to talk to and really down to earth and I think he was quite pleased when I said I thought his show was much better than James Martin’s other cookery programme.
I might add he was not the only celebrity I met today but that might be revealed at some point in the future.

There was plenty on offer for visitors with various livestock categories – apparently the cattle classes are tomorrow – as well as displays from the police and fire and rescue service. Having said that I quite enjoyed this display by the team with their police dogs and I quite liked this shot of one of the dogs in action tackling a so-called “wrong un”.
