Today I ventured out west to photograph a demonstration organised by the local Extinction Rebellion group against a proposed new coal mine in west Cumbria near Whitehaven.
One of the key speakers was Natalie Bennett, the former leader of the Green Party who now sits in the House of Lords, and there was also representation from Greenpeace.
Obviously it is a divisive issue and the local police were on hand to make sure things did not get out of hand. On the whole I am quite pleased with the photos and the turnout was quite good considering the damp Cumbrian weather.
The argument for the mine is it will create much needed jobs and clearly it goes against measures put in place to tackle climate change.
