I RETURNED north of the border twice this week for different reasons. The first was a trip up to Inverness on Monday to sell some camera kit and a chance to catch up with former colleagues.

However today’s journey to Bannockburn battlefield, in the Stirling area, was to recreate a black and white photo that I took while staying there in June 1996. I always thought it was a pity the photo (below) was not in colour and had always promised myself a return journey to rectify that as I always quite liked the way the statue is framed by the neighbouring rotunda.

I was quite pleased with the results although I still need to do a proper edit of the shots. But the thing that strikes me was how the trees have grown in almost 30 years.
