THERE is a TV show called Hold The Front Page where comedians Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe take the roles of cub reporters on a local paper and they try to get the front page splash.
I was surprised to hear that my editor wanted me to get some shots as they were to attend the Westmorland County Show in September 2023 and they were to somehow to chase down some scoops.
Having said that I was sworn to secrecy until the show was broadcast, but I am fairly sure it was already shown last year, so I believe I can share these photos now.
And, because I took so many shots, which is what I do, I apparently pissed off the TV film crew. When I mentioned it to my editor she said that I was only doing my job which I was quite pleased with and took it as a badge of honour.
But the top scoops they chased down included the winner of the egg competition at the county show and rumours of a large cat, aka the Beast of west Cumbria, but I do not subscribe to Sky so I do not know the end result.
It was quite funny later on the day when I was working on the photos in the Westmorland Gazette office when the duo filmed the scene where they meet the editor for the first time. Some of the things they said were comedy gold and it was hard to keep a straight face while the cameras were rolling.
