My History

I have been a press photographer and journalist for more than 30 years, working across the northern parts of the UK, but I am now based in Carlisle, Cumbria, in the north west of England.

Between 1992 and 2002 I worked mainly as a photojournalist and my photos were used by every UK national and Sunday newspaper as well as a number of international publications and book publishers.

In 2002 I retrained as a reporter and have continued to provide images to illustrate my articles.

As well as general editorial assignments, I specialise in both travel and music photography; my work and travels having taken me to a variety of countries – including Afghanistan, China, Russia and Ukraine.

The images you see on this website are from an archive covering almost 40 years.

Until recently I mainly used Leica rangefinder kit before making the switch to Sony Alpha cameras and lenses in 2024.

CONTACT: If you would like to know more about my work, please get in touch by email or by phone using the details shown below. All work is the copyright of the photographer and should not to be used without my prior, written permission.
